Baha'u'llah explore contains the following materials:

  • An introduction to the writings of Baha'u'llah
  • English translations of around 40 of Baha'u'llah's works and introductions to them
  • A glossary
  • A list of over 120 English translations available on other websites, with links to them.

Step 1: Begin by reading the introduction to Baha'u'llah writings; you'll find a link to it on the Main Menu. If you don't know who Baha'u'llah is, click on the link "Who is Baha'u'llah?" at the top. This will take you to another website, which has an overview on Baha'u'llah and what he wrote and taught.

Step 2: Choose one of Baha'u'llah's writings, under the "Translations" heading on the Main Menu. The translations are listed in alphabetical order. Each translation can be printed or downloaded as a .pdf file. You access these options using the little symbols to the right of the title of the translation.

Step 3: Read the work you have chosen and its introduction.

As you read through the text on screen, you'll see that some terms appear to have links beneath them, like this: houri. In a few cases, the dotted lines indicate a link that will take you to explanatory information on other websites. But in most cases, they indicate that the word forms part of the Glossary. If you hold your cursor over the word, the explanation will appear as a pop-up. To avoid visual clutter, the dotted lines appear only once for each term on each page of the site; that is, they will appear only the first time a term is used on a page.

You can search all the glossary terms by clicking on the "Glossary" link on the Main Menu. Glossary entries contain links to websites that provide further information. Unfortunately, you cannot click on these links from the pop-up window - try it, you'll see! To access them, you need to go to the Glossary.

In future, glossary terms that have particular importance in Baha'u'llah's writings will have in-depth explanations in the form of essays. These essays will be searchable under a "Key Concepts" link.

Step 4: Over time, gradually work through all the writings reproduced on this site.

Step 5: Use the materials on Baha'u'llah explore to study the writings of Baha'u'llah that are not reproduced on this site. You'll find a list of translations at the "List of translations on all sites" link on the Main Menu.
